REAL FACILITIES
INC. HELPS X.EYE INCORPORATED
BENEFIT FROM NORTEL'S FACILITY EXIT
TORONTO, January 8, 2002 - RF Real Estate Inc., the exclusive real
estate broker of Real Facilities Inc., (www.realfacilities.com), has
completed a 23,000 square foot lease agreement for x.eye incorporated in
premises originally designated as a Nortel facility in Mississauga's Airport
Corporate Centre, at 2425 Matheson Blvd East.
Because of the recent high-tech meltdown, Nortel elected to give up
134,500 square feet of newly constructed office space they were
planning to move into and decided to market the space for sublease.
"Even though the space was still under construction and designed for
Nortel's needs, we immediately recognized the opportunity for our
client x.eye and negotiated a flexible lease agreement at very reasonable
rates with all of Nortel's new leasehold improvements in place," says Real
Facilities Founder and President Stan Krawitz "This is truly a David
and Goliath story of a small, entrepreneurial high-tech company
benefiting from recent economic events."
x.eye is an industry-leading provider of global customer relationship
management (CRM) software and wealth management technology that helps
banks, brokerages, insurers and trusts around the globe to increase
assets under management through closer, more effective relationships with
clients.
"Real Facilities 'seized the day' and provided services that are not
normally offered by conventional corporate realtors," adds x.eye's
Vice President, Finance Anwar Hussein. "Because they represented our best
interests and not the landlord, we felt confident that they were
working with our business objectives in mind. They immediately recognized
the benefits of this opportunity and advised us on design, construction,
technology and furniture logistics, so we can move in work ready.
Real Facilities also counseled us on how to maximize the most appropriate
real estate strategy including direction for our workspace productivity,
interior planning and project budgeting."
"Clients like x.eye have come to understand that our service
proposition makes it possible to eliminate the usual hassles of dealing with
a
complex find, lease and outfit process," adds Stan Krawitz. "We were
able to
benefit from Nortel's well-planned and professionally constructed
office space and then we negotiated a phased in commencement date that
provides x.eye with additional flexibility. We are now in the planning phase
of space design and construction that will begin early in 2002."
